Küçükyalı Archeopark, located in Çınar District of Maltepe Municipality, is in a state of limited access since it is abandoned and surrounded by structures, although it is located in the city. In our design proposal, an Archeopark is suggested, which will be an indispensable part of the city by adopting the Historical Preservation Guide and Scenography concepts of Açalya Alpan, and will be actively used by the citizens after the excavations are completed.
The layout schemes of the building have been created to reconfigure the church by observing the plan program from the past, by processing the current plan to the immediate surroundings, by following the existing traces. This proposal touches the ground only where deemed necessary, taking into account the soil, which must be protected together with the building, and paying attention to the boundaries of the 1st and 3rd degree archaeological sites. The remaining masses are suspended in the air with a steel light structure, aiming to preserve the visual, auditory and tactile interaction of the city flow to the archeopark.
Apart from this, the mass forms of the building are created with frames in line with the concept of scenography, offering a 360-degree panoramic museum experience. In addition to the needs program in which the archaeologists and officials who will excavate, will work and meet their daily needs, the building will actively increase both exploratory learning and conscious learning potentials of the citizens.
